Tadé Toiletries

The pain d'Alep, forefarther of all known soaps and undisputed pride of the famous Hammam Steam Bath, owes its distinction to the fruit of two trees, the olive and the bay laurel. Skilled artisans have presided for centuries over the process of saponifying olive oil to produce a smooth, rich, green paste soap. This formula, characteristic of the Syrian town of Aleppo, is then enhanced with laurel oil, poured onto a specially prepared floor, cut into cubes and stacked into colums to dry in the open air. The firm dark gold robe of the mature Pain D'Alep soap hides a softer, greener core. Ecological, natural and incomparibly mild, it is not only used to cleanse face and body, but also to launder delicate items of clothing and to keep mites from wollens and rugs. The variants are smaller soaps scented with rose, jasmine, orange blossom, laurel... Mediterranean fragrances that have lent their refinement to skincare products since Antiquity.
